A recent change currently being rolled out by Facebook gives you the ability to claim your Facebook Page vanity URL without the need to first reach 25 likes. Previously, you needed to wait to reach the minimum likes before you could claim your vanity URL or custom URL.
What does this mean for you?
The main benefits of this are:
- You can put this on your business cards and other printed material immediately.
When setting up a new business, you had to wait to reach the minimum likes and possibly hold up design and printing of various material.- You can put this on your customized designs for other social networks like Twitter and YouTube.
Again and particularly for new businesses, you would have to hold up design and uploading of your customized social media in order to have this on the design.- You can immediately use the custom version (i.e. http://www.facebook.com/OnlineMarketingPerth) on your email signatures as opposed to the long stream of numbers.
This is particularly important when you prefer to use the full URL as opposed to hyperlinking images in your email signature.
